On the Path, You Are Not Alone!

My son Christopher is a gifted photographer. Knowing this, I asked him for a photo shoot. We chose a lovely spot, and one area had a path on which the dirt had been so well-traveled that it was solid as concrete under our feet. As I walked, the sounds of birds, crickets, and the wind rustling through the trees, and the sights along the way all worked to transport me to a place of blissful peace. I could feel the Divine around me even as I heard the faint voices of others enjoying this precious serenity.

Today, I see another message in the photo. Focusing only on the picture, the beholder can’t be sure that someone else is there. After all, modern devices allow us to take self portraits with timers or remotes. But, my son was present, holding the camera, focusing on me, capturing the moment.

The snapshot of your life in this moment may or may not show you in a lovely spot. It may or may not capture a peaceful place. It may or may not be one that you would want to revisit at a later date. The snapshot of this moment would, however, find you on a well-traveled path, because someone, somewhere, has traveled this way before.

And, though you may feel all alone, you are not.

The All-Seeing One has never lost sight of you . . . and never will. Psalm 33:18 in The Message says, “Watch this: God’s eye is on those who respect him, the ones who are looking for his love.”

You are here!

You are seen.

You are loved.
